Germany - Switzerland : 1-1

In the opening day of the Fed Cup match between Germany and Switzerland, Timea (WTA 15) was defeated 6-1 6-3 by Angelique Kerber (WTA 2) who won last Sunday the Australian Open. Belinda Bencic beat earlier in the afternoon Andrea Petkovic by the score of 6-3 6-4.
