Timea forced to retire

I am so sorry to have to inform you that I have to cancel my participation in the Budapest tennis tournament next week.

After playing in Saint Petersburg and in the Fed Cup, I came to the conclusion that I need to give my hand more time to recover. I do not want to take any risk that could impact the rest of my season.

I am deeply sorry for the organisers of the tournament and for the Hungarian public that I was looking forward to connecting with.

I will be back on the circuit in Indian Wells in the beginning of March.
